2021 Recall Information
FFG is recalling employees furloughed, terminated or laid-off between March 27, 2020 and June 15, 2020. Employees should sign and return the acceptance letter in their recall packet via U.S. Mail or email to your HR contact below no later than January 20, 2021. You have 14 days to inform FFG whether the employee elects to return to employment (“Active Status”).
Please see below for Frequently Asked Questions:
Question: After I have confirmed my intent to return, what are the next steps?
Answer: Do not to return to Flying Food Group’s facilities until instructed to do so. You will be contacted by your human resources representative regarding next steps. In case there is no work available at FFG’s unit, we will evaluate other work options.
Question: Is there a risk of being furloughed or laid-off again?
Answer: Yes. If no additional government funding is received by FFG and no work available at the unit, you will be furloughed or terminated again as soon as the PSP1 funding is used up, which will likely occur at the latest by end of March 2021.
Question: Is it possible, that the current rules from the Department of Treasury will change again?
Answer: Yes, the Department of Treasury’s preliminary guidelines may be subject to further updates, revisions, or modifications and the Secretary of the Department of Treasury may waive these requirements in his or her sole discretion to the extent permitted by law.
Question: How does the process work after I accepted the recall letter?
Answer: While you are required to contact us as outlined and by the date shown in your recall letter you are specifically directed not to return to Flying Food Group’s facilities until instructed to do so by your local human resources representative. Flying Food Group cares deeply about the safety of its employees. We are currently formulating a plan to safely return additional employees to the workplace during this pandemic. We are also evaluating the safest and most efficient process regarding all administrative requirement to change your status back to “Active” (e.g. ID and I-9 verification).
Question: Do I retain my seniority after my return?
Answer: Yes.
Question: When will I be eligible for Health Benefits?
Answer: You will be eligible to participate in FFG Benefits effective the date of your onboarding.
Question: As of what date would I be paid when I accept the recall?
Answer: We are still waiting for final clarification by Treasury on this question. Our current assumption is that you will return to the payroll effective the date your onboarding.
